Established in 2016 Under the ownership of Zach Richardson, the Crusaders were the 2nd all women's football team representing the Kern County area. We are now the only all women’s football team representing the Kern County area. Recognized as a 501(c) non-profit organization, it is through the continued support of local businesses and the community that allow us to represent Kern County in women’s tackle football. The Kern County Crusaders are affiliated with the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA). The WFA was founded in 2007 and is the largest women’s semi-professional tackle football league in the country. Seventy teams play in the WFA and we are proud to be a part of such a strong, competitive league.
We want to give women the opportunity to learn and play tackle football. We are dedicated to hard work, creating a positive environment, and being a positive influence to young women athletes. It is important for you to know that we hold our players to high expectations in how they conduct themselves on and off the field. We are proud to represent Kern County in a respectful and professional manner. It is the vision of the KC Crusaders to not only enrich the lives of the women playing this sport, but to be involved in the communities throughout the county. We hope to do this by providing camps for young girls to learn how to stay healthy, active, and play football. We also currently volunteer in our communities with organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House and The Shafter Youth Center.
